Revving Up Support: Inaugural Sno-Isle Skills Center Foundation Car Show Raises $4,400 for Students

May 3, 2025, marked the launch of a new and exciting tradition for the Sno-Isle Skills Center Foundation: the Inaugural Fundraising Car Show, held right on the Sno-Isle TECH Skills Center campus. With clear skies, a fantastic turnout, and strong community spirit, the event exceeded expectations in both participation and impact.

A Showcase of Passion and Purpose

The event brought together 79 registered vehicles, filling the Sno-Isle TECH grounds with classic cars, custom builds, and beloved local rides. Car enthusiasts and community members came from across Snohomish and Island Counties to support technical education and enjoy a day filled with horsepower, craftsmanship, and community pride.

Powered by Volunteers and Student Talent

More than 40 volunteers made the day possible, coordinating traffic, managing booths, setting up displays, and helping to keep everything running smoothly. The event’s highlight came with presenting 19 custom trophies, which were not your average off-the-shelf awards. These unique pieces were a collaborative creation from three programs:

  • Welding and Metal Fabrication
  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Auto Body & Collision Repair

The Automotive Technology Program donated all parts, showcasing student skill and Sno-Isle TECH’s collaborative, cross-program spirit.

Fueling the Future

The car show raised $4,400, which will go directly toward supporting students through scholarships, updated equipment, and expanded program resources. This total reflects event entry fees, generous donations, and food and beverage sales proceeds.

Speaking of refreshments, Whidbey Island Coffee Co. generously donated all the coffee beans for the day’s concessions—an incredible gift that energized guests and volunteers. Students from the Culinary Arts Program prepared and served all food and drink offerings, providing a real-world opportunity to practice their hospitality skills.

Looking Ahead

With overwhelming positive feedback and strong community engagement, the Foundation is thrilled to announce that the car show will return next year. Save the 2nd Annual Fundraising Car Show date: June 6, 2026.

We seek event sponsors and non-food vendors to make next year’s event even bigger and better. Details are forthcoming, and we invite interested businesses and community members to get in touch to be part of this growing tradition.

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, or contributed to the success of this inaugural event. Together, we are driving student success—one gear at a time.
