Inspiring stories from our students

Discover heartfelt stories from our supporters, sharing their experiences and how we help.

I can thank Sno-Isle for opening my eyes in where I can go and what I can do. Now I’m a diesel tech in a shop making 3 times as much as I did in high school. Without Sno-Isle, I wouldn’t of known where to go, or what to do with my life, it is one of the best foundations I think any student can make for themselves.

On day one of orientation I was hooked. I thought, “wow I get to learn about cooking and the inner workings of a restaurant without the burden of college debt.” I have now been in the restaurant industry for over 12 years and Sno-isle gave me that extra step towards the career I have always wanted. I have worked in many restaurants in Seattle, Hawaii, Alaska and Utah. This is all thanks to the opportunity Sno-isle culinary department gave me, and Chef Becky who saw the potential and passion in each and every one of us.

On a personal note, I want to tell you how much I appreciate the programs and support you offer for students. My oldest daughter went through the offset printing program back when it was in place and is now managing our family printing company, my second daughter went through the electrical program and through a summer internship Sno-Isle helped set up for her with Bonneville Power she is now working as an electrical engineer for them and my youngest daughter is currently a four point student at Nascar Technical Institute after two years in the automotive program before graduating last year.
